These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Spendle ("we", "us", "our"). By joining the waitlist or using Spendle, you agree to these Terms.
This is a draft document provided for transparency while Spendle is pre-launch. It is not yet final and is to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
About Spendle
Spendle is a personal finance app that helps you understand your own money. It connects to your bank read-only through Akahu, calculates a safe-to-spend number, and offers tools to help you save and plan.
Not financial advice
Spendle is not a registered bank, lender, or licensed financial adviser. The information and figures we provide are general in nature and indicative only. They are designed to help you understand your own situation, not to tell you what to do. For advice tailored to you, please speak to a qualified financial adviser, mortgage adviser, accountant or your bank.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and a New Zealand resident to use Spendle.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details safe. Two-factor authentication is enforced on every account.
- The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
Bank connections
Bank connections are provided through Akahu, the regulated open-banking provider, under their own terms. The connection is read-only and you can revoke it at any time. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of data provided by your bank or by Akahu.
Subscriptions and payments
- Spendle offers a free plan and paid plans (Plus and Pro). Prices are shown GST inclusive in New Zealand dollars.
- Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, with no lock-in contract.
- We will give you reasonable notice of any price changes.
Acceptable use
Please use Spendle lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other people’s data, or use Spendle to break the law.
Your data
How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: your data is stored securely, we never sell it, and you can export or delete it at any time.
Availability and liability
We work hard to keep Spendle reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, our liability to you is limited. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude rights you have that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Spendle and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Spendle grows, and we will let you know about any significant changes.
